Famous Telugu dubbing artist A Srinivasa Murthy passes away

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of A Srinivasa Murthy, a popular Telugu dubbing artist, who passed away in Chennai today due to health related ailments.

Srinivasa was well-known in Tollywood for his talent in dubbing negative roles in Telugu films. He gained fame, especially with his voice work for Tamil actor Suriya’s characters, and became the permanent voice for all of Suriya’s movies that were released in Telugu.

Srinivas began his dubbing career in Tollywood in the early 1990s and it was Arjun Sarja and Shankar’s “Oke Okkadu” that gave him the much-needed break in Tollywood. He was also popular for lending his voice to other Tamil stars such as Ajith and Chiyaan Vikram among other popular actors.

Srinivasa was known for his vocal versatility and his work was highly praised after the release of “Aparichitudu” which he dubbed for All the variations of Vikram. Recently, he dubbed for Ajith’s “Viswasam” and R.Madhavan’s “Rocketry”. He was also an actor who has acted in a couple of Telugu movies besides dubbing for a few Character roles.

Srinivasa Murthy was a son of veteran Playback singer AVN Murthy. In one of his interviews, he revealed that they have gone through lots of financial troubles in his life before seeing success as a dubbing artist. He will be greatly missed by his fans, friends and family.

He dubbed for many non-Telugu actors, such as Ajith Kumar in Viswasam, Mohanlal in Janatha Garage, Vikram in Aparichithudu, Jayaram in Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Arjun in Okeokkadu, and Upendra.
